There’s the Great American Beer Festival, the World Beer Cup, and now California has its own competition. There’s a hot, new beer competition around: The California Craft Brewers Cup made its debut in August and quickly established itself as the second-largest beer competition in the U.S. Run by the California Craft Brewers Association, a trade group, the competition brought nearly 1,300 beers in 61 categories before a team of 80 judges, myself included. And the results were just announced in Long Beach during the annual California Beer Summit.
